    Rations

Does anyone know what the typical rations were for an American at home during WWII? How did they compare to the rations issued in Britain or Canada? I know that this is the time that margerine came into common use. Are there any other foods that are common now because of the war?

I do know that meat, butter, sugar and oils were scarce during the war. Then there were some foods like beans, ketchup, frozen fruits and vegetables that were in short supply but not as bad.

I remember reading that Kraft Macaroni and Cheese became quite popular during the war because it was abundant and cheap.
