Hi, and thank you for the welcome, much appreciated.

Found these forums whilst searching for more info on the Mulberry Harbour. I live on the south coast of Kent in St Marys Bay and every morning, weather permitting, I walk to work along the beach. There is a section of the Mulberry just of the coast in Littlestone. I am quite up to date with WWII history as I do like my military stuff, but have never paid much attention to such an important part of the Normandy Landings.

Whilst recently reading the book 'Lost Voices of WWII' I read a passage where the author remembered 'delivering' his big block of floating concrete to the bay off Dungeness. So this got me searching more into the Mulberry Pheonix casion off my beach. There seems to be some difference in how it ended up there. Some say it got stuck when it was stored there ready for use, where as some say it ended up there after breaking free in a storm! Also, I understand there were several in the bay at one point too, and at very low tide you can see evidence where more were supposedly cleared by demolishing them via explosion. Would love to have seen that!

Here is a pic I took Weds morning. Tried walking all the way out but gave up as it was alot further than I first thought!

Again many thanks for the welcome and I look forward to my stay and further reading of this forum.

    Hello Paul,

I have seen photos of the said section of the Mulberry in Littlestone, but to be honest i have never read about the how's and when so it is refreshing to read your post. Great picture you added btw.

If you have more info regarding this subject i would be grateful if you could add it.
