This book was a great one that I just read for a War and Society class in university. It's by a military historian named Omer Bartov and is a collection of essays and articles attempting to explain various cultural and historical circumstances surrounding the Holocaust and how it related to Germany and Europe at the time.

It's a really great read and asks a lot of difficult questions about the nature of modern society and war. Definitely check it out if you're interested in the Holocaust and Germany during WWII.
