Remembrance
As we approach this years Remembrance Day service at the Cenotaph in Whitehall, it’s a sobering thought that since the end of the Second World War there has been just one year when no British service personnel were killed in action.
That year was 1968.
In fact, since the army started collating KiA figures more than 300 years ago there have apparently been only two such “death free” years.
These figures only consider Killed in Action and not those service personnel killed in accidents, training and other unfortunate incidents.
