Just wanted to say Hi. I'm a big WW2 fan. My username derives from the fact that Vickers Supermarine had a shadow factory here in Swindon & my Grandad worked there on Spitfires & various lend - lease American types such as Martin Maryland & Baltimore medium bombers.

Hi friend, nice to see you here. We have an occasional visitor here whose father flew active missions in, among others, Baltimore and Maryland bombers.

Hello spitfire, did your granddad ever get to fly in the spitfire?

Not sure. I'm certain he did get a couple of flights in other aircraft though ...

He went on to do some work on the Vickers Viscount after the war before finally working in their Nuclear Power division.

I'm on holiday for a week from tomorrow. But I'll be back on the 11th Aug raring to go. Have a week off at Home so I'll be doing some more Articles on here. One slight problem though ... I seem to have reached my limit for posting pictures. Can anyone help ?
